DescriptionW. A. Huff. W. A. Huff to Hon. Jno. B. Gordon & Others on the Georgia Marshalship. Washington, November 9, 1877. [N.p., n.d.] First Edition. Caption title, 13pp. Stitched binding. Light edge and spine wear. Very good.
More Information: A disappointed candidate for the office of Marshal, Huff pleads his case to General (now United States Senator) Gordon, and rebutts the charge that his ties to prominent Republicans disqualify him. He is a true Democrat but, in the spirit of Southern magnanimity, ready to work with anyone who promotes the interests of the New South. Gordon was one of the most influential politicians in post-War Georgia. Not in De Renne.
