    Second edition. Four quarto volumes. viii, 464; [2], 500; [2], 519; [2], 532 pages. Portrait frontispiece of Thomas Jefferson in first volume. All with half-titles. Cloth backed over paper covered boards with paper title labels. Bindings rubbed, soiled, and chipped, boards bowed, spine labels creased, rubbed and chipped. First volume's boards stained; frontispiece, title page and first preface leaf loose; folded facsimile of "A Declaration by the Representatives of the United States..." with fold separations and small tears. Few unopened pages. Pages with edge wear, creases, edge tears, chips and minor loss, foxing (heavy at times), pencil marks mostly in margins, occasional soiling. A good set of books.
