Daniel Boone edition, one of 200 numbered copies (this being copy 22) with an original leaf of manuscript in volume I. Four quarto volumes. Illustrated. Bound in publisher's deluxe binding of full red levant morocco, spines lettered in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, gilt turn-ins, marbled endleaves, top edges gilt. Spines uniformly darkened, joints of volume I starting, the other three volumes rebacked. Some wear and soiling to bindings, bookplate of prominent Chicago lawyer and banker Weymouth Kirkland on each front pastedown. Manuscript leaf has a short tear at the fold. A good set.
