    John N[ewton] Opie. A Rebel Cavalryman with Lee Stuart and Jackson. Chicago: W. B. Conkey Company, 1899. First edition. Octavo. 336 pages. Profusely illustrated. Publisher's red cloth with titles stamped in white.

    John Opie was in the thick of battle during the war. He had a horse shot out from under him and was wounded at Brandy Station and ended the war as a POW. He was a veteran of the Virginia 6th Cavalry.

    Condition: Very good. Modest shelf wear to the edges of the boards; spine sunned. Binding a bit shaken and the inner hinges loose. Occasional scattered light staining to contents.
