Description

John F. Kennedy: Harvard Freshman Red Book 1940. Hardbound, 8.25" x 10.75", 263 pp., Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1937. A volume depicting Harvard's Class of 1940 as freshmen, including the future President of the United States John F. Kennedy at the age of nineteen in his first year at Harvard. JFK is pictured four times in the Red Book-as chairman of the Smoker Committee (which brought entertainment to campus), as a member of the football team (in which he is described as "the most adept pass catcher . . . but his lack of weight was a drawback"), as a member of the swimming squad, and in his class picture. Amongst JFK's classmates are pictured such notables as Alan Jay Lerner and Pete Seeger. Tightly bound; cover worn and scuffed; interior pages clean. Overall, in fine condition.
