First edition. Octavo. 207 pages, illustrated frontispiece and five plates. Folded map in front (approximately 14.5 x 33 inches). Bound in modern black buckram with gilt title on spine. Binding rubbed. Bookseller's pencil notes on front free endpaper. Map with fold and edge wear, small fold separations and minor edge tears, one two-inch tear from upper margin into image area. Pages with edge wear, small chips, few edge tears (one in upper margin of leaf 205/206 with cellophane tape repairs), foxing throughout and occasional smudging or soiling. Very good.
