Description

Jerry Doyle [illustrator]. Charles Fisher. INSCRIBED BY DOYLE AND FISHER, AND WITH ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATIONS BY DOYLE. According to Doyle: A Cartoon History of World War II. New York: Putnam, [1943]. Quarto. Publisher's binding with minor rubbing and abrading to cloth extremities. A few small areas of insect nibbling. Offsetting to front endpapers. On the second free endpaper, Doyle has supplied wonderful color caricatures of himself and Fisher in ink and colored pencils with a lengthy inscription and signatures of both authors. Also laid in is an inscribed pencil sketch, measuring 8.5 x 5.5 inches, on toned paper. Very good.
