Pierce, the dedicatee used as the frontispiece. Illustrations in the text, and with the large folding color map at the rear (25" x 19"), map is two-sided, with Texas on one side and the U.S. and Texas on the other. Map is detached and laid-in. Publisher's green cloth with a double rule border stamped in blind on the covers, and lettered and decoratively stamped in gilt on the front cover and spine.
Condition: Boards spotted with scattered soiling with wear along the edges and spine ends; hinges cracked (but holding); contents lightly toned; map with old tape repairs, else a very good copy.
