    J. Evetts Haley (and others). Some Southwestern Trails. El Paso: Carl Hertzog, 1948. First edition, first printing. This copy presented to noted Dallas book reviewer and collector, Lee Milazzo. With a long inscription by Haley to Milazzo on the front free endpaper; inscribed by Hertzog on the colophon page, in part: "This is the "true" original. There were some should have all been Bugbee". Accompanied by a note by Hertzog to Milazzo commenting on the slipcase. Oblong quarto. 30 un-numbered pages. Illustrations by Harold Bugbee. Original publisher's cloth with titles and vignette lettered in brown. Accompanied by the original slipcase, as issued.

    Thumbnail historical descriptions by various authors of eleven cattle trails, each with a map and an illustration by Bugbee. Hertzog bound only 50 copies in boards. Some copies had a frontispiece by Bugbee, others by Tom Lea.

    Condition: Some toning to spine, otherwise near fine in a worn and tape-repaired slipcase.
