Map of the J A Ranch. Original red cloth over boards with titles stamped in gilt on the front board and spine.
The J A ranch was the oldest ranch in the Texas Panhandle, founded by Charles Goodnight and John Adair. Burton does an admirable job of chronicling the ranch's history through the early part of the 20th Century. Though Burton's book has been reprinted, first editions rarely find their way to market.
Condition: Boards worn at the corners and spine ends; scattered insect damage to the spine; outline a label on the lower spine; Library of Congress label mounted to front pastedown; considerable underlining and marginalia in ink throughout, else a solid copy in very good condition.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
