Franklin D. Roosevelt. Whither Bound? Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1926. First edition of Roosevelt's first commercially published book, association copy, inscribed by the author to his youngest son on the front free endpaper: "For the youngest of the flock / John Aspinwall Roosevelt / from his affectionate Father / Franklin D. Roosevelt / June 1926;" additionally signed the title-page, with the original delivery envelope. Octavo (8.75 x 5.75 inches; 222 x 146 mm.). [viii], 34, [2, blank] pages. Publisher's blue cloth, front board stamped in blind, spine lettered in gilt. Original dust jacket. Spine very slightly dull; edge of binding and spine somewhat rubbed; minor soiling and bubbling to boards; some offsetting to endleaves. Boards slightly rounded. Dust jacket spine toned; spine chipped at edges, with a large chip missing at the headcap (with some loss of text); edge of jacket panels chipped, worn, and with several tears; jacket panels thumbsoiled. Delivery envelope with vertical crease through center; envelope chipped, torn and wrinkled. Very good. From the James C.
