Ed J. Hamner [editor]. Texas Law Review, 1883-1886. Volumes I-VI. Ex library in four later brown cloth bindings. Galveston, Texas: Prepared by Hon. J. C. Walker of the Galveston Bar. Spine has gilt-stamped red and black labels. The Texas Law Review was a weekly legal newspaper containing all appellate court decisions. The four bound volumes begin with Vol. 1, No. 1, dated January 6, 1883, from Austin, and end with Vol. 6, No. 42 ("Whole No. 195"). These volumes lack only Whole Numbers 190, 196, and the title page and initial unnumbered pages, all from the final volume.

Some ads and articles, including one announcing the curriculum of the new law school at the University of Texas (No. 22, June 22, 1883). Some soiling and wear to the boards (one back cover bears some staining); toned pages with only occasional penciled annotations. All four are solidly bound and each bears the stamped "Nevada State Library" to the head, fore-edge, and tail. The library stamps also appear on the front pastedowns, front endpaper, and title pages of each of the four bound volumes. Overall, these are good, solid volumes of this rare weekly Texas legal newspaper.
