    Description

    A Singular Hertzog Binding

    C. L. Sonnichsen. Pass of the North. Four Centuries on the Rio Grande. El Paso: Texas Western Press, 1968. Second printing. Octavo. 467 pages. Illustrated. Full leather with titles stamped in gilt on the spine and vignette stamped in gilt on the front board. Map endpapers. Fine in clamshell box. A unique copy inscribed by Carl Hertzog on the front free endpaper: "Only one copy was bound and boxed like this - Carl Hertzog 12/17/72". This superbly executed copy is from the collection of a longtime friend to Hertzog and was presumably given as a very special and unique gift.
