Bound to period style in modern full tan calf, covers ruled in brown, spine ruled in gilt, with original label affixed. Original endpapers preserved. Some light wear to spine label, some toning, thumbsoiling and foxing in text. Still, a near fine copy with an excellent association.
Mahlon Dickerson (1770-1853) had a distinguished career in public service. He was a judge, a twice-appointed Secretary of the Navy, a United States Senator, and the Governor of New Jersey.
