    More Information: A rare history of this Illinois town, from its beginnings in the early 1850's. "Not in Buck or Bradford, nor do we recall having seen a copy before. The volume contains reminiscences of numerous pioneers, a hitory of the early settlement of the township and events in the history of the village. Among the latter, the tho outstanding were the hunting visit of the Prince of Wales in 1860, and the discovery by Dr. Keeley in 1880 of medical means for curing alcoholics." Eberstadt. "In many cases the matter for this history was written in 1878 and people who are spoken of at that time may be deceased or moved away, but are spoken of in the present tense," cautions the editor. 128 Eberstadt 286. 153 NUC 0460333 [3].
