    With Autographs by Orville Wright,
His Sister Katharine, and Herbert Hoover

[Orville Wright, subject]. Fred C. Kelly. The Wright Brothers. New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1946. Later printing. Inscribed by Orville Wright on the half-title: "To Donald and Peg Clements/with best wishes from/Their friend./Orville Wright/Aug 1, 1946." Octavo. [xii], 340 pages. Publisher's full blue cloth, spine lettered in white, dust jacket. Some edgewear (and chipping), thumbsoiling, and toning to jacket, some rubbing to binding, toning or occasional soiling in text. Still, very good. [Together With:] Katharine Wright (1874-1929). Inscribed Postcard Signed. Pyrenées, 2-24-09. Addressed to Frank S. Gardner. On recto is a photograph of the Wright airplane flying over a field, with farmers watching. On verso is a warm letter by Katharine, thanking Mr. Gardner for his kind letter and invitation to visit when they go to London, but that they can't stay with the Gardners (Katharine states she hopes to see them, though). Signed by Katharine in the margin. Approximately 3.5 x 5.5 inches. With stamp and two ink cancels. Some toning, and light soiling. Very good. [Together With:] Herbert Hoover (1874-1964). Typed Letter Signed. New York: November 3, 1920. On stationery of the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers. Approximately 11 x 8.5 inches. Toned, two horizontal creases, some chipping and mild wear to left margin. Good. Written while Hoover was president of the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers, Hoover asks the recipient to join their ranks before he leaves the presidency of that organization in February of 1921. An interesting collection.
