[Kentucky]. Journal of the Proceedings of the Forty-Third Annual Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Kentucky, Held in St. Paul's Church, Louisville, KY., May 31st, and June 1st, 2d, and 3d, A.D. 1871. New York: 1871. First edition. Octavo. 93pp + errata slip, disbound, original printed wrappers (spine-chipped). Some foxing, toning and creasing. Very good.

The Assistant Bishop's report, in the form of a diary, notes that Kentucky has "three hundred thousand people of color, and over this vast multitude our Church, as yet, has exerted a scarcely appreciable influence. One small congregation in the city of Louisville and two schools, one in Louisville and one in Frankfort, complete the record of our work of evangelization among them...[W]e are the last to bring these children of ignorance and degradation within the influence of the Church of Christ."

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
