    More Information:

Philadelphia: Carey, Lea & Carey, 1828. First English language edition.

Two octavo volumes bound in one. 8 [ads], iv, [9, sic]-212; 238, [2, ads] pages. In the rare original publisher's cloth-backed boards, printed paper label on spine. Binding worn and soiled with several tears, front board nearly detached, text uncut with rough edges, text foxed, with some occasional soiling, chips or tears throughout, lacks the final page of ads in volume I, some contemporary ink notations and marks on endleaves. A fair copy, rare in the original boards. Bernhard's travels took him as far as St. Louis.

If my clients were to auction something of significance, having Mike as the auctioneer would be a deal maker as far as I am concerned.
