[George Montague] Wheeler. U.S. Geographical Surveys West of the 100th Meridian. Topographical and Land Classification Atlas Sheets. [Washington: Government Printing Office, 1878]. First edition, complete with nine color lithograph maps (of ten called for though it is probably that map four was never issued) on eight folding sheets. Comprises: Atlas Map Sheets No. 41 B: Southeast corner of Idaho and part of Northern Utah; Nos. 47 B & D (as one map or double-sheet): Parts of Eastern California and Western and Southwestern Nevada; No. 61 C: Part of Southwestern Colorado; Nos. 62 A & 62 C: Part of Central Colorado; No. 69 D: Part of Northern Central New Mexico; Nos. 77 D & 84 B: Part of Central New Mexico. The maps are housed in the original folder of issue. All maps in very good condition exhibiting some short, clean splits in the folds.

The Wheeler Survey explored the portion of the United States lying west of the 100 meridian. The survey comprised several expeditions, culminating in 1879, when their work was reorganized as the United States Geological Survey.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
