Including: William Howard Taft (American President and Supreme Court Chief Justice, 1857-1930). Typed Letter Signed. Washington, D. C., September 19, 1929. On Supreme Court stationery. One octavo page on one quarto sheet. Addressed to Mr. Eric Pape, thanking him for his (Pape's) greetings, and reminiscing about the pageant that Pape staged for him in Gloucester in 1909. Toned, some creases. Good. With original mailing envelope. [And:] Original Ticket to the Pageant for President William H. Taft. [Gloucester], 1909. Printed on blue card stock. Signed by Pape. [And:] A small brass souvenir shovel commemorating Taft's turning of the first scoop of earth for the Panama Pacific International Exhibition. [And:] Two Typed Letters Signed by Secretaries to President Taft, Washington, D.C, May 24, 1909, February 17, 1911. The May letter confirms that Taft will be in Gloucester on August 4, 1909, asking for a program of the proposed Pageant. On plain white White House stationery. Each one octavo sheet. Some creasing, thumbsoiling. Fair. Each in original mailing envelopes. [And:] One Menu and One Program for the Dinner in Honor of William H. Taft for October 1, 1910. Each in original wrappers. Some wear, minor soiling. Good.
