More Information: The first edition was reviewed in Volume X of The Quarterly of the Texas State Historical Association (page 183): "This is made up of very readable reminiscences of little known encounters in the district mentioned, which throw some light on the struggle with Redskins, which was part of the life of the pioneer settlers." The book was originally published in Hamilton, Texas, in 1894 and is exceedingly rare. This later reprinting is also a scarce item.
