More Information: A fine and informative early legislative response to the new Federal Constitution. The General Assembly enacts legislation prescribing election procedures for Senators and Representatives to Congress. Additionally, an Act requires all legislative, executive, and judicial officers of the State to "support the Constitution, agreed upon by the Convention of the United States, and ratified by the Convention of this State." Another suspends all suits brought in Connecticut by any citizen of recalcitrant Rhode Island, which had filed to ratify the Constituion and had passed disabling legislation against citizens of Connecticut. And, in recognition of the Constitution's establishment of a national free-trade zone and Congress's power over foreign commerce, Connecticut repeals its import duties. This is the "official issue," Evans, with other printings in New London and Hartford. Evans 21748. Bates 288.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.View More Testimonials
