Commemorative Memento from the United States Civil Rights Movement

[Civil Rights] We Shall Overcome, March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom August 28, 1963. New York: National Urban League, [1963]. Five illustrated leaves by artist Louis Lo Monaco, an introductory leaf and a table of contents leaf (7 leaves total). All inserted in a pictorial paper portfolio. Quarto. Introductory leaf includes facsimile signature of Martin Luther King, Jr., James Farmer and four others. A bit of toning and wrinkling to leaves. Edgewear and creasing to portfolio, with some light, scattered foxing to verso. Staining and foxing to rear cover. This copy lacks the pledge card that was issued. Very good.
From the introductory leaf: "This collection of graphic collages has been created specifically as a memento for those who participated in the historic March on Washington for Freedom and Jobs on August 28, 1963...As we view this collection and think about the period in history which led to its creation, may we pledge to ourselves and our posterity, the kind of sincere activity and personal witnessing which will put these tragedies behind us as we move together toward the kind of America which is our heritage. We shall overcome."
