Letter-Press Edition, limited to 600 copies, of which this is number 372. Ten volumes. Octavo. Various paginations; portraiture frontispiece inserted in the first volume; handful of illustrated plates inserted in the first three, as well as the ninth, volumes (some folding); copy of a 1745 letter tipped to the rear flyleaf of the first volume. Contemporary dark green half-morocco over marbled paper-covered boards, spine with two raised bands and lettered, ruled, tooled and stamped in gilt; top edge gilt, others untrimmed; marbled endpapers, flyleaves. Backstrips and edges uniformly faded to brown with a few minor scuffs and scrapes; spine ends, joints and board edges worn; boards lightly rubbed; some corners tapped. Same previous owner gift inscription in each volume; illustrated portrait of Franklin, contemporary with publication, affixed to the front pastedown of Volume I. Very good. Uncommon in a contemporary binding.
