    Mid Eighteenth-Century Edition
    of the Bay Psalm Book

[Bay Psalm Book]. The Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs of the Old and New Testament: Faithfully translated into English Metre. Boston: Printed by J. Draper, 1744. Twenty-sixth edition of the Bay Psalm Book, the first book printed in America. Small twelvemo. ii, 346 pages. [Bound with:] Rev. Mr. Tufts. An Introduction to the Singing of Psalm-Tunes... Boston: Printed for Samuel Gerrish, 1736. 10 pages. [and:] Lessons for Tuning Voice... 12 leaves of sheet music. Contemporary sheep with decorative stamping to the boards, five raised bands to the spine. Chipping and noticeable wear to the binding. Front joint mostly split and very tender. Rear joint starting. Minor scattered foxing. Short horizontal tear to the title page. Some older pencil notations to some rear leaves. Overall, a good copy of a rare work, as any early edition of the Bay Psalm Book is difficult to procure in the modern market. Evans 5337 (slight variation in the imprint - "for D. Henchman in Cornhill").

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
