Alexandre Dumas Autograph Manuscript Signed, "A. Dumas." This lot features a handwritten holograph manuscript composed by Alexandre Dumas pere. He is known by "pere" to distinguish him from his son who is also a novelist and playwright; the son is designated by "fils". Dumas pere is best known for his novels, The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo. This manuscript is called Alfred de Musset- Etude. It consists of 18 leaves, measuring 11" x 17.5" each. It is signed on the last page of the manuscript. The manuscript is a detailed study of the French romantic poet, dramatist, fiction writer, and companion of George Sand. It is written in beautiful, dark French handwriting. The signature is vivid and clear.

The manuscript is in good condition; the edges show some wear from storage; the ink has begun to bleed through the pages slightly, creating brown stains on the verso of some pages. "Rien ne reussit comme le success!" Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
