DescriptionAgatha Christie. The Mystery of the Blue Train. London: W. Collins Sons & Co Ltd, 1928. First edition. Octavo (7.125 x 5.875 inches; 183 x 122 mm.). viii, 295,  pages. Publisher's full blue cloth, front and spine stamped in red-orange. Original illustrated dust jacket. All edges trimmed. Mild shelf wear at extremities of binding; a bit of wear starting to show along joints; spine ends gently pushed; barely perceptible rubbing to boards. Normal age toning with some foxing to edges and interior of text block; mostly marginal with occasional thumb-soiling or spot-staining. Occasional black speckling, mostly at endpapers, and one or two instances of crumbs at gutters. Jacket reinforced at top and bottom and along spine panel; general light toning and rubbing to exposed panels; moderate chipping along top and bottom edges with some loss to author's name at front panel; a bit of creasing, including a handful running vertical length of the flaps. Jacket lightly foxed at verso. Near fine book in a very good jacket. Fifth appearance of Christie's Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot.
