In-text plans and facsimiles. Publisher's full cream cloth, front and spine stamped in dark green. All edges trimmed. Mild shelf wear at extremities of binding; cloth slightly rubbed with some light soiling; faintly discolored indentation running vertical length of spine; scattered surface loss to cloth at boards resulting from insect damage, most visible in raking light. Virtually no age toning to edges and interior of text block. Bookseller ticket at front pastedown offset slightly onto free endpaper. Very nearly fine. First edition Christie's first novel, preceding the British publication in 1921. The first appearance of Hercule Poirot. A Haycraft Queen Cornerstone.
