Publisher's orange cloth, spine and front lettered in black; fore-edge untrimmed, others trimmed, top edge stained red with "Office File Copy" stamp; original illustrated dust jacket. Spine ends pushed with slight loss to cloth; bumping to top and fore-edges of boards; trace of shelf wear to bottom edges; cloth thinning at corners. Top edge of text block a bit dust-soiled with two small faded drips; fore-edges of pages softened just a touch; mild rubbing to bottom edge, particularly at corner, with soft scratch or two; endpapers darkened a few shades; handful of interior pages scattered with faint brown speckling. General mild yellowing to jacket; light rubbing to spine, front and rear panels, with soft creasing at joints and flap folds; short tear, about 1.25" extending down from head of spine panel, with associated soft creasing; small abrasion at rear panel; flaps clipped; mild, uneven browning at verso. Near fine. Published first in Britain as Dumb Witness.
