DescriptionAgatha Christie. Dumb Witness. London: The Crime Club by Collins, 1937. First edition. Octavo (7.5 x 5 inches; 191 x 126 mm.). 316,  pages. Publisher's full red cloth, spine lettered in black. Original illustrated dust jacket with photo of Christie's dog, Peter. All edges trimmed. Minimal shelf wear at extremities of binding; a bit of discoloration along top edge; one or two tiny spots of soiling; soft bumping to corners. Edges of text block faintly toned with scattered foxing. Endpapers unevenly toned; normal, mild age yellowing to interior. Minor rubbing and soiling to exposed panels of dust jacket; a bit of edge wear with minimal paper loss at spine and flap fold ends; some soft creasing at spine; tiny hole toward top of rear flap fold; one short tear extending up from bottom edge of rear panel. Very nearly fine. With Crime Club membership slip laid in at front. A Hercule Poirot mystery.
