Adam Smith: 1805 Three-Volume Set of An Inquiry Into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. (Glasgow: The University Press, Printed by and for J. & J. Scrymgeour, and for Mundell & Son, and Arch. Constable & Co., Edinburgh, 1805), new edition, three volumes: Volume I: Title page, Advertisement, Contents, i-lv, 360 pages; Volume II: Title page, Contents, 512 pages; Volume III: Title page, Contents, 448 pages, plus an Appendix (Volume II) and Index (Volume III), full leather bindings with marbled leather boards and gilt titling and decoration on the spine and gilt flourish on the boards, clear plastic dust sleeves, housed in a modern custom cloth slipcase. Marbled edges and endpapers. This is a beautiful set of Smith's monumental work on market economics that greatly influenced (and continues to influence) scores of economists, governments, and political theorists since its first publication in 1776. The set is in very good condition, with some rubbing to the edges, corners, and spines. The inner text is mildly toned in places, but overall remains clear and sharp. The bindings are strong. Previous owner's bookplate affixed to the front pastedown of each volume. A handsome three-volume set of Smith's magnum opus.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
