    The First American Edition of Milne's When We Were Very Young, One of Only 100 Copies Signed by Him

    A.A. Milne. When We Were Very Young. [New York]: E. P. Dutton & Co., [1924]. First American edition, one of 100 copies signed by Milne, out of a total edition of 500. Octavo. [xiv], 100, [2, blank] pages. Signed limitation page inserted at front. Publisher's green cloth backstrip over pictorial paper boards, spine lettered in yellow, in the rare dust jacket. Several pages unopened. Jacket reinforced on verso, rear joint of jacket separated, jacket toned, chipped, with several tears and some wear and thumbsoiling, cloth spine sunned and a bit dull, spine lettering faded, cloth of front joint faded to yellow, some rubbing and bumping to boards, gutter facing signed limitation cracking near top, frontispiece and first few leaves creased, copyright and dedication pages offset (most likely by newspaper articles now absent), page 61/62 with a tear near the bottom. Still, a good copy of this rare item.
