Description

A Volume From Napoleon's Personal Library
Postes Impériales. État Général des Routes de Poste de L'Empire Francais, Du Royaume D'Italie et de la Confédération du Rhin, Dressé Par Ordre Du Conseil D'Administration Pour L'an 1812 (Paris: De L'Imprimerie Impériale, 1812), first edition, 362 pages, 8vo (5" x 8.25"), bound in full contemporary French calf with gilt cover and spine decorations. The decorations on the spine represent the arms of Napoleon and other Imperial devices. Napoleon's gilt coat-of-arms acts as an impressive focal point on the front cover. There is a tipped-in undated typewritten note from an English bookseller giving the catalog particulars of the book. The book is in overall very good condition with some rubbing to the leather at the corners, wear at the leather hinges and some moderate wear to the head and foot of the spine.
