[8], 358, [2] pages. Frontispiece and fifteen additional inserted plates on coated paper, by Sidney Paget. Publisher's full red cloth; front and spine stamped in gilt; front with black hound silhouette ornament. All edges trimmed. Housed in custom green cloth chemise in one-quarter green morocco book-backed clamshell with black leather spine labels, stamped in gilt, with four raised bands. A bit of wear at edges, joints and spine ends of binding; light rubbing to boards; some soft bumping along corners and edges. Normal age toning and mild softening to edges of text block; top edge slightly darkened. One or two instances of spot soiling scattered throughout interior; a handful of pages with small bumps or chips to edges. Almost near fine. A Haycraft Queen Cornerstone.
