    Description

    A. A. Milne. Winnie-the-Pooh. London: Methuen & Co., [1926]. First edition, limited issue on hand-made paper, limited to 350 copies, of which this is number 233, and signed by the author and the illustrator. Large octavo (8.75 x 7 inches; 222 x 180 mm.). [xvi], 158, [2] pages; full-page and in-text illustrations by E. H. Shepard throughout, folding map of the 100 Aker Wood inserted at rear. Publisher's dark blue quarter-cloth over light blue paper-covered boards, printed paper label affixed to the front board; page edges untrimmed, text largely unopened; in original printed dust jacket. Board edges just barely discolored, fore-edges with a couple very minor bends and a tiny divot to the rear board; bottom corners gently bumped. Just a hint of offsetting to the endpapers; fore-edge of rear pastedown very slightly cockled. Dust jacket spine panel very faintly dulled; light wear to the crown; two small, narrow (the larger being approximately five-eighths inches wide, the other pretty negligible) interior punctures to the rear panel; very faint discoloration along flap folds; two very soft creases to the rear panel; light crimping at bottom corners; pencil notation to upper corner of front panel; trace faint soiling. An exceptional copy of an easily worn book, dust jacket color much brighter than often seen. Nearly fine.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
