First edition, hand-made paper issue, limited to 350 copies, of which this is number 311, and signed by the author and the illustrator. Additionally inscribed by the author on the title-page. Quarto (8.75 x 6.5 inches; 220 x 162 mm.). [xii], [180] pages. Illustrated. Publisher's quarter blue cloth backstrip over plain boards, printed paper label on front board; in original dust jacket. Cloth spine a bit sunned and rubbed; plain boards and paper label are foxed; lower corners bumped; some offset and dampstaining to endleaves. Several pages unopened. Recipient's bookplate on front pastedown. Dust jacket spine thumbsoiled and mildly chipped; some toning, short tears, edgewear and thumbsoiling to jacket panels; a few creases and some dampstaining to rear jacket panel. Overall, a very good copy. Chemised in quarter blue morocco slipcase. From the James C. Seacrest Collection.
