[William Michael Rossetti's Copy]. Bound Collection of Eleven Auction Catalogs. Various Places and Publishers, 1880s-1890s. Collection of eleven auction catalogs bound in one octavo volume. Included are seven catalogs from Sotheby, Wilkinson & Hodge, featuring sales of letters of Byron, Keats' love letters, Charles Dickens, letters and sketches by D.G. Rossetti; two catalogs from Christie, Manson & Woods, featuring sales of the artwork of Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Edward Burne-Jones; and one small catalog each from Bernard Quaritch, featuring the works of Thomas Bewick, and Messrs. Foster featuring John William Inchbold. Black pebbled cloth over boards with "Catlogues,/ Sales./ &c" in gilt on spine. Decorated head- and tail-pieces, few illustrations. Ink holograph signature of "W.M Rossetti" on front pastedown and head of title to Christie's Rossetti catalog, holograph index of contents on front free endpaper, some catalogs with realized prices in both pen and pencil in margins. Boards rubbed, joints cracked, head of spine missing cloth (perhaps affecting gilt title); end papers lightly browned, smudges and occasional foxing, otherwise an interesting volume in very good condition. From the William E. Fredeman Collection.
