    [William McKinley] Presentation Copy of George Washington Day by Day¸ Presented to President McKinley by the Author, Elizabeth Bryant Johnston. 207pp, 7.4" x 9.5". New York: Baker & Taylor Co., 1895. Blue and tan cloth covered boards, with gilt title and portrait of George Washington on front cover. Inscribed by the author on the front endpaper: "To Hon Wm. McKinley. President of the United States. With sincere regards of Elizabeth Bryant Johnston. July Fourth 1897. Washington D.C." Light foxing to endpapers, and tape remnants on front pastedown. Interior pages remain clean. With a second inscription presenting the book to John Endsley, "With the compliments of Miss Helen McKinley. Cleveland, Ohio / October 15th 1914." Book is accompanied by a printed calling card of Elizabeth Bryant Johnston; Ms. Johnston was the "Historian General" of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Also included is the original exhibition marker for the book used at the 1954 Somerset Pennsylvania Sesqui-Centennial.
