Volume I has two pages of hand-corrected proofs by Bryant bound-in (pages 63 and 64) and Volume II has three pages of manuscript of this translation, also in Bryant's hand. Two quarto volumes. [2], [xx], 398; [viii], 426 pages. Bound in contemporary half plum morocco over marbled paper boards. Spines ruled and tooled in blind. Ruled, tooled, and lettered in gilt in compartments with five raised bands. Marbled endleaves. Spines and edges of binding sunned to brown with some rubbing and mild wear to binding. Overall, a near fine copy. Bound for politician and author Whitelaw Reid, with his name stamped in gilt on the spines.
