[William Caxton] The Cronycles of Englonde with the dedes of popes and emperours and also the descripcyon of Englonde (London: Wynkyn de Worde, 1528), unpaginated, 4to (8" x 10.75"), bound in full red morocco, with 5 raised bands on the spine, Curzon coat-of-arms on in gilt on the front and back cover, gilt fore edges, marble endpapers, full-page woodcut on the title page, several woodcuts in the text and publisher's colophon. The title page and two other leaves are in facsimile. This is an early work of old English history. Wynkyn de Worde (died 1534) was an Alsatian printer and stationer who was an apprentice to noted printer William Caxton. This book was formerly in the library of Robert Curzon (1810 - 1873), English diplomat and scholar. Curzon's name and the date 1855 are handwritten on the inside front free endpaper. The signature of John Burns (1858 - 1943), English labor leader and cabinet officer is on the second front free endpaper. This attractive volume is in near fine condition with only some light and sporadic foxing to pages. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
