First edition, inscribed by Walt Disney on the dedication page: "To Mickey Batcheldor [sic] / my best / wishes / Walt Disney." Additionally signed or inscribed by several other contributors to the film. Inscribed by Bill Garity, the Disney Studios engineer who created the "Fantasound" system to install in theaters for higher sound quality on the front free endpaper: "To Mick / May they never / come tougher than / this was / Bill Garity / 12/23/40." Signed on the Contents page by Frank Thomas ("Jeff-you can do anything! / Thanks"), Ollie Johnston, and Marc Davis ("Thanks Jeff-for everything!"). Thomas and Johnston have also signed the title-page. Folio (12.75 x 9.5 inches; 324 x 239 mm.). 157 [158], [2, blank] pages. Illustrated. Publisher's beige cloth, front board and spine lettered in dark blue; in original dust jacket. Cloth spine a bit dull; spine rubbed and bumped at edges; one small soil-mark on the spine; some rubbing, light soiling, and edgewear to boards; upper front corner lightly bumped. Dust jacket spine toned; jacket edges worn with several chips and tears (some tears are creased); some soiling to jacket. Overall, a very good copy. "Serious music had never been so attractively portrayed and untold youngsters were drawn to Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Stravinsky by the snippets they heard in Fantasia." (Lebrecht 143).
