    [U. S. Constitution]. The New American Museum or Repository of Ancient and Modern Fugitive Pieces, &c. Prose and Poetical Magazine, September, 1787, Volume II, Number III. Philadelphia: Printed by Mathew Carey, 1787. First edition of this early printing of the Constitution. Octavo (7.75 x 4.5; 197 x 114 mm). [211]-[312]. Modern laid paper over boards with titles printed in black on the spine. Pages toned with scattered light to moderate foxing. With the small book label of a previous owner mounted to the front pastedown. Still, very good and quite scarce.

    Commencing on page 276 with the introduction "The constitution framed for the united states of America, by a convention of deputies from the states of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, at a session begun May 14, and ended September 17, 1787." The printing concludes on page 284 with a list of delegates. An important, extremely early printing of the Constitution. Sabin 1162. Evans 20194.
