[Texas Republic] Laws Passed by the Eighth Congress of the Republic of Texas. Published by Authority. Houston: Cruger & Moore - Public Printers - Main Street. 1841. 8vo. 120 pp., with five blank leaves and a final six-page Abstract. Disbound and sewn. Light to moderate age toning on outer leaves; interior pages are bright and clean. Fine condition.

During the session of the Eighth Congress, Texas legislators worked on a number of significant acts and resolutions, including the creation of the Supreme Court of Texas and the authorization of a special court to try Texas Navy Commodore E. W. Moore on impeachment charges. This compilation of laws also contains the first printing of the noted Act Authorizing John C. Hays to raise a Company of Mounted Gunmen, to act as Rangers, on the Western and Southwestern Frontier. Other legislation includes the incorporation of the Colorado Navigation Company, the incorporation of several towns, an Act regulating the sale of Runaway Slaves, laws relating to the delivery of mail and the establishment of post offices, and much more. Holograph notations on first page indicate this copy was the property of T. A. Harris, publisher of the Soda Lake Herald, a weekly paper issued in Marshall in 1845 and 1846.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
