Rebound in brown, blind-stamped cloth with gilt lettering and decorative device on front board and spine; marbled endpaper. Title page is missing. Heavily foxed throughout, some dampstaining toward the latter half. Binding is tight.

    More Information: Both the first and second editions of this work begin with a printing of the Texas Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. There follows a listing of the Laws of the Republic of Texas with acts and resolutions on a myriad of topics, including such diverse matters as: numerous resolutions providing for the relief of various private citizens, an act to protect the frontier, an act to provide for the local defence [sic]  by organizing the militia, an act defining the boundaries of the Republic of Texas, an act to suppress gambling, resolution for the relief of free persons of color, resolution for the benefit of Texian prisoners taken by the Mexicans, and others.
