    [Sylvia Plath]. The Bell Jar. By Victoria Lucas (pseudonym). London: Heinemann, [1963]. First edition. Octavo (7.125 x 4.875 inches; 182 x 123 mm.). [iv], 258, [2, blank] pages. Publisher's black paper-covered boards, spine lettered and tooled in gilt, publisher's device stamped in blind on rear board; in original dust jacket. Spine with just a hint of a lean; boards just barely splayed; bottom edge of spine gently pushed; just a touch of wear to the bottom corners. Tiny blot to the top of the text block. Dust jacket rear flap creased vertically; spine panel dulled just a shade and with a tiny interior bruise; edges lightly worn, particularly at spine ends and flap folds; small bruise to the front panel, between the Ls in "Bell;" soft crease to the upper margin of the front panel and along the front spine fold; light marginal soiling to the white background of the rear panel. A beautiful, near fine copy. The author's only novel.
