"[Sir Edward Sullivan] was born in Ireland in 1852 and succeeded his father as second baronet in 1855. He distinguished himself at Trinity College, Dublin before being called to the Irish Bar in 1879 and to the English Bar in 1888. He was a trustee of the National Library of Ireland and responsible for the series of photographs and rubbings that form the sole record of the magnificent Irish Parliamentary bindings lost in the fire at the Public Records Office during the siege of the Four Corners in 1922."
