    [Richard Francis Burton]. Wanderings in West Africa. From Liverpool to Fernando Po. London: Tinsley Brothers, 1863. First edition. Two volumes. Small octavo. viii, [2], 303, [1]; [6], 295, [1] pages. Two frontispieces, one of which is a folding map. Contemporary half blue morocco over marbled paper-covered boards; tooled in gilt; five raised bands at spine. All edges trimmed, top edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Wear to corners, joints of binding; slight discoloration to backstrips. Edges of text block and pages slightly toned with age; marginal spot-staining and foxing scattered throughout; archival repair to one corner of folding map. Very good. Written during Burton's consulship at Fernando Po, a small island off the coast of Cameroon that is now part of Equatorial Guinea. Penzer, p. 71.
