[Photography]. Jessie Tarbox Beals. Songs of a Wanderer. New York: Privately Printed; August Gauthier, [1928]. First edition of this rare book of Beals' poetry and photography. Inscribed by her.

    More Information:

Inscribed on the front free endpaper: "A wanderer's heart must/fly afar but comes/a-singing home./Jessie Tarbox Beals/1928". Octavo. 63, [1, blank] pages. Illustrated throughout with Beals' photographic images. Publisher's multi-colored hand-made paper over boards, printed paper label on front board. Joints cracking near the top, spine a bit toned, some edgewear to binding, some wear to printed paper label, some minor foxing on endleaves, previous owner's ink signature on front free endpaper (not affecting Beals' inscription). Still, good. This book is exceedingly rare, as nearly the entire press run was destroyed in a warehouse fire.
