Classic Early Work on Coffee, Tea and Chocolate

[Philippe Sylvestre Dufour]. Tractatus Novi de Potu Caphe'; de Chinensium The'; et de Chocolata. Paris: Apud Petrum Muguet, 1685. First edition in Latin (same year in French). Twentyfourmo. [8], 202, [4, index] pages. Frontispiece and three additional engraved plates. Contemporary calf with gilt decoration in six compartments between five raised bands. Marbled endpapers. Boards scuffed and shelf worn; joints starting to crack; contents with occasional light foxing and toning, otherwise a nice copy in very good condition. One of the plates shows an American Indian and the cocoa tree; another a Turk and the coffee plant. Complete copies are scarce.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
