From the printed papers mounted to the front pastedown:
"Richard Todd is a familiar and beloved face in this country for his portrayal of Robin Hood and his memorable performance as Peter Marshall in A Man Called Peter. He originally planned to be an author and dramatist, but his involvement with the theatre revealed him to be a gifted actor. The war interrupted his career, bridging the years between his seasons in repertory and Shakespeare companies and the years when he became internationally known in films. His role in The Hasty Heart earned him an Oscar nomination, British National Film Award, and several other coveted honors. His distinguished career also included the role of Sir Walter Raleigh in The Virgin Queen with Bette Davis as Elizabeth I, and roles in films such as D-Day, The Sixth June, The Longest Day, The Last Hunter, The Yangtse Incident, The Love Ins, and Asylum. His return to live theatre found him in Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband, then in Dear Octopus. His Triumph Theatre Productions is now the most active theatre production company in the world."
